Loudoun Medical Practice is made up of two GP surgeries in Darvel & Newmilns in Ayrshire, and is run by Dr Kondol and Partners. This website has details about the two surgeries, the services we provide, health advice and links to other helpful sites.
DR KONDOL RETIREMENT
We are sad to inform you that our Senior Partner Dr Kondol will be retiring at the end of this month due to ill health. He has been a GP in this Practice for an astounding 40 years this month and brought his family up in Darvel. He is going to be sorely missed by colleagues and patients. If anybody wishes to hand in a card or letter for him, we will be leaving a box in the Darvel reception porch for these and will ensure that these are all passed to him.
Econsult may be turned off at times when we are critically short of clinicians, if the system is off and you require urgent care please telephone the surgery.
Reduced clinical GP capacity due to unforeseen staffing issues
21 March 2022 – UPDATE 1 JUNE 2022
We continue to experience significantly reduced clinical GP capacity due to unforeseen staffing issues out with the Practice’s control. This unfortunately means that the Practice continue to have a reduction of GP appointments and clinical capacity available to patients. We are working hard alongside Ayrshire and Arran Health Board to try and source additional clinicians. Patients can be assured that those with the most urgent clinical need will continue to be prioritised for care.
We operate a zero tolerance policy with regards to abusive and aggressive behaviour and ask all our registered patients to please be patient and kind as we work to improve the situation. All practice staff continue to work tirelessly to provide safe and effective care to our patients.
We ask patients to only contact the practice after considering other healthcare options first and keeping clinical appointments for those most in need. Advice, care and on many occasions medicine if needed (at no cost) is available from community pharmacies and opticians through Pharmacy First Scotland. NHS Inform can also provide information and self-care advice as well as how to access the Right Care, in the Right Place at the Right Time.
Self-help advice is available by using eConsult however, please be aware that eConsult may be turned off at times when we are critically short of clinicians. If the system is off and you require urgent care please telephone the surgery
Our sincere thanks go to all patients for their continued support and we will provide further updates when available.

For information on:
We offer routine appointments with any doctor and these can be booked in advance by telephoning the Surgery. Telephone appointments are available for those not needing an examination.
We also offer on the day appointments for those that need urgent medical attention. To book one of these our trained reception staff will ask you for a brief description of your medical condition to make sure you are directed to an appointment that best suits your needs. If you would prefer to have this conversation in private please phone in or ask to speak to one of our reception staff in private. Appointments will be with whichever doctor is available and it ensures that even during our doctor shortage those that need to be seen can be seen.
Please continue to telephone for medication requests, sick lines, nurse appointments and to book appointments with our physiotherapist for muscle, joint and back problems.
SOCIAL NETWORKING SITES
The Practice has experienced inappropriate use of social networking sites directly relating to delivery of medical care. We operate a zero tolerance policy and patients found to have posted defamatory or derogatory comments relating to any medical, nursing, or administration staff or health care delivery may be removed from the Practice list. Where appropriate we will report the offending individual to the appropriate legal authority and social networking site.
